The John Monash Scholarships were featured in an advertorial in the December issue of The Last Post, a new high quality magazine celebrating Australia's traditions and resources. The magazine, which first appeared in May 2011, has a circulation of 10,000 and targets retirees. The Governor-General, also Patron in Chief of the General Sir John Monash Foundation, launched the first edition.
The article on John Monash Scholarships, celebrates the first 64 scholars, highlighting the work of Dr Mark Dawson, Catherine Stubberfield, Dr Mark Schembri, and Dr Danielle Malek. It also highlights the challenges faced by the Foundation in securing financial sustainability, and indicates the efforts of the Foundation board to build its Endowment through gifts and bequests.
